We are having a retail shop, where all the sales receipts are happening in Cash, UPI or thru credit cards.
How to record such sales in Tally Prime, because while making the sales entry Tally allows you only one debit, but we have to debit say 3 or 4 ledgers like Cash, Credit Card-HDFC bank, Credit Card- ICICI bank and UPI.
Hi Pramesh,
For managing retail sales, invoice and reports Tally is having inbuilt POS module.
You will have to create a new voucher type as POS Sales under Sales and there you will find a option "Use as POS" set it to yes and you will get more options.
Now, press F8 and choose POS Sales voucher and you will find all the options including payment receipt modes in the same voucher only.
You will also get POS register in reports.

Sir,
Thanks for your valuable help.
I tried to do the same. The entry got posted as we needed. Total Sale Rs. 1000/= Recd. As cash-500, card-400 and upi-100. So now the sale is Rs. 1000/=. Bank got receipts of Rs. 400 and say another bank Rs. 100. However we do not receive Rs. 400 in the bank because the bank deducts say Rs. 5 as credit card commission, so normally we receive Rs. 395 in the bank, whereas the bank entry is of Rs. 400. Now how to solve this issue.
Please guide.
In this case, you will have to create a control a/c let say "Razorpay Card Swipe Control A/c" under Sundry Debtors as the example in my case.
Now choose Razorpay Card Swipe Control A/c with Rs. 400 under Gift Vouchers option while recording POS entry as shown in below snapshot;
So, you will see the Rs. 400 balance under Razorpay Card Swipe Control A/c.
Now, when you actually receive a payment from your payment partner in your bank after commission deduction, record following JV to get the relevant accounting effects.
This will clear your Razorpay Card Swipe Control A/c and you will get the actual received account in your bank after commission deduction.
This is an suggested work-around as the direct option is not available in TallyPrime as per the real-life business scenario you shared.
